Become a part of history on the morning of Sunday,
June 14, 2015 with Liberty Subaru when we attempt to break the Guinness
Book of World Record of 'the Largest Parade of Subaru's' while RAISING
MONEY FOR MERKEL CELL CARCINOMA RESEARCH IN HONOR OF COLIN JOHNSTON!
In 2013, we held a successful "Rally Against Cancer" event raising over
$1,000 for Merkel Cell Carcinoma Research in honor of Colin, benefiting
the University of Washington MCC Research Center in Seattle,
Washington.
In 2014, we raised over $5,500 and had 250 Subaru vehicles from 11 states gathered in one spot!
This year, we've set the bar a bit higher…we would like to raise at
least $8,000 and BREAK THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR THE 'LARGEST PARADE
OF SUBARU CARS'!
Liberty Subaru is covering all costs of the
event so we can donate ALL proceeds to support Merkel Cell Carcinoma
Research in honor of Colin Johnston. The registration donation fee is
$15 per car (although additional donations are welcome!).
To
commemorate the new world record, the first 500 drivers will receive a
Liberty Subaru Guinness World Record Attempt T-shirt! This ensures
everyone has their shirt for the group photo we plan to take on the day
of the event.
The current record is held by Subaru of America…they were able to muster 371 Subaru's at the SOA plant in Indiana…we know the Tri-State spirit will carry us well beyond that number. Knowing that we'll be blowing that number away, we contracted with MetLife Stadium…the only place big enough for such an event! If they can handle the Super Bowl, they should be able to handle us!
We
were pleased to host our event at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ; Super Bowl one day
and the Liberty Subaru World Record attempt the next! It was an
unbelievable site to see 3.64 miles of Subaru vehicles parading around
the complex. We may not have broken the Guinness World Record, but we
certainly set our own record in Parking Lot J! Most importantly, we were
not short of Subaru enthusiasm; with Subaru vehicles from 11 different
states we raised $5,500 and awareness for Merkel Cell Carcinoma in honor
of Colin Johnston!
